Ancient Greek Day

As part of our 'Olympics' topic we held an Ancient Greek day.  Everyone dressed in Ancient Greek costume. We made Greek food - a Greek salad, Baklava, Hummous, a mint and yoghurt dip.  We all tasted it and nobody complained about the garlic!

We made our own headdresses and Greek clay pots.  Before our celebration feast we took part in Ancient Greek Olympic games, including wrestling.  We discovered how difficult it is to wrestle in costume!

We had a fabulous day which we all enjoyed!  Thank you Mr Atter and Mrs Kearsley for organising this.

Our Visit to Whisby Environment Centre

To finish off our term's topic on MiniBeasts we visited Whisby Environment Centre.  We did pond dipping, bug hunting and wild art.  The weather was fabulous which was good because we were outside for much of the day.  We were astounded by the variety of creatures we  discovered particularly the water scorpions and dragonfly larvae.  Andrew found a toad which had its own minibeasts living on his skin!  Mrs Kearsley wasn't too happy when the toad did a whoopsy on her!
